Penn State York is a commonwealth Campus of the Pennsylvania State University, and it is located in York County in Pennsylvania. Although the university was established in 1939, it moved to its current location in 1956.

The York campus primarily provides education to allow students to complete basic degree requirements before transferring to University Park – the university’s main campus – to complete their degree. 

Recently, eight four-year degrees have been added to the curriculum, which can be completed entirely on-site. 

Some of the most popular degrees offered by Penn State York include: business, psychology, electrical engineering, human development, women’s studies, theatre and mechanical engineering. 

Penn State Altoona offers students the chance to undertake internships in the local area, research programmes and study abroad programmes alongside their education to advance their skills and prepare them for the professional world. 

The 51-acre campus consists of six major buildings – including the Pullo Family Performing Arts Centre – six tennis courts, athletic fields, and several acres of beautiful woodland.

There is a new library on campus, which has over 4 million books, some 10,000 electronic publications and over 200 databases for students to utilise.

Annual celebrations include Chinese New Year Celebration – which is celebrated with food, activity tables, music and more – Jim Brickman Live in Concert, All American Talent Competition, Women’s History Month Fair

There are plenty of opportunities for students to get involved with clubs and organisations on campus. These include: Robotics Club, Photography Club, Pokémon Club, Cheerleading, Rock Music Club and Dance Club.

Athletic teams at Penn State–York teams are know as the Nittany Lions and they participate as a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). Sports teams include baseball, basketball, soccer and volleyball.
