Penn State Berks is a commonwealth campus of Pennsylvania State University and is located in Spring Township in Pennsylvania.

The university was founded as Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute, and only became part of the Penn State system in 1958. It moved to its present location in Spring Township in 1972.

Like other campuses within the Penn State commonwealth, students can begin their undergraduate degree at Penn State Berks and then, after two years of study, transfer to the University Park Campus – the main campus of Pennsylvania State University – to complete their degree.

Although it exists in relation to the Pennsylvania State University, since 1997, it has offered bachelor degrees in its own right.

A variety of courses are on offer for students, with popular choices including: accounting, mechanical engineering, theatre studies, business, and criminal justice.

Penn State-Berks offers students the chance to undertake internships, research programmes and study abroad programmes alongside their education to advance their skills and prepare them for the professional world.

There are over 50 clubs and organisations on offer to students of Penn State Berks, which are overseen by the Student Government Association. Clubs on offer include: Agriculture and Environmental Club, Biology/Biochemistry Club, Pre-Medical Society, Society of Women Engineers, Dance Team, Chamber Choir and Ski & Board Club.

Athletic teams – nicknamed the Littany Lions – at Penn State–Berks compete at the NCAA Division III level and is also a member of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC). Sports teams include: baseball, basketball, golf, cross country, soccer, tennis, volleyball and softball.
