关于 Lake Forest College
Lake Forest College is a focused four year liberal arts institution based in the small northeastern town of Illinois from which it takes its name. The city of Chicago is about an hour’s drive south of campus.
There are deliberately small class sizes at Lake Forest, the college intending for each lesson to be taught to under twenty students so as to ensure a faculty receptive to each individual’s study experience. Through the In The Loop programme students complete up to 300 internship hours, residing in downtown Chicago at Lake Forest’s sister campus.
As well as pre-professional courses in Health and Law, there are a combined total of fifty-seven minors or majors available at Lake Forest. There are two graduate programmes at Lake Forest, a Master of Liberal Studies, and a Master of Arts in Teaching.
The college also teaches coursework in six languages and occasional courses in Japanese and Portuguese. As part of Lake Forest’s established cultural connections in Chicago past language students have taken internships at institutions such as the Alliance Française and the Chicago Latino Film Festival.
Lake Forest offers over 200 study abroad programmes in over 70 countries. Students will receive Lake Forest academic credit for all approved international exchanges, and direct enrolment arrangements at Budapest, Cork, and the American College of Greece will be accompanied by an on-site faculty co-ordinator.
The $17-million, 65,000-square-foot Lake Forest College Sports & Recreation Centre contains a 1200 seater basketball and volleyball arena and a 300 seater, 25 metre swimming pool with diving block.
Some notable alumni of Lake Forest are long-serving member of Congress, Adolph Sabath, fantasy writer Jacqueline Carey, and celebrated political cartoonist Herbert Block.
