ESSCA has always placed pedagogy and quality learning at the heart of its mission. This is why the school, in 2010, founded a department dedicated to the accompaniment of its faculty with a view to improving learning: the Institute of Applied Pedagogy.
Experimentation, use of digital tools, innovation, training, advising: many tools are among those offered by the Institute to adapt to ESSCA faculty’s needs and projects. With a goal of improving course content and adaptation to the societal changes that our students are undergoing, notably in terms of digital content, this institute inspires its offer from current research in pedagogy to accompany each professor’s changes to the best of its ability.
Notable Projects
The Institute of Advanced Pedagogy is both the motor and the support for pedagogical innovation as well as for the development and implementation of digital usage in the programs and courses given by ESSCA.
Here are 3 examples of innovative means designed and implemented by the Institute:
- PECT (Pedagogy in a Collaborative and Technical Environment) Classrooms allow, thanks to their round tables and on-site laptops as well as screens on each wall of the room, favoring interactions between students as well as with the teacher to place students actively at the actual heart of the pedagogy.
- The Creative Box MOOC, an online course open to all, is geared to students, to people already in an in-company position, or to entrepreneurs. Each one can find working methods, operational techniques, and digital tools to develop their creativity and innovation.
- Adaptive Learning consists in offering students, in addition to face-to-face class periods, a customized learning process adapted to their rhythm and organization. This tool enables staff to support and accompany students in their learning curve at any moment and from anywhere
