关于 College of Mount Saint Vincent
The College of Mount Saint Vincent is a Catholic liberal arts college in New York City.
CMSV was founded in 1847 by the Sisters of Charity of New York, a congregation of Catholic women committed to education and nursing since 1809. It gained its current name in 1911.
It is located north of the city centre, on hills next to the New York City side of the Hudson River, 12 miles north of Times Square and six miles north of Yankee Stadium, home to the New York Yankees, Major League Baseball champions more than 25 times.
Its students follow a core liberal arts-based curriculum throughout their degrees, although there is also scope to specialise. Its School of Professional Studies offers postgraduates course options such as education, nursing and business administration.
New York City is the most populous in the US, and probably the most famous, laying a claim to be the nation’s financial, commercial, theatre, cultural and culinary capital. Whether it’s watching shows on Broadway, or basketball, ice hockey games or concerts at Madison Square Garden, or wandering around Central Park, there is no shortage of things for students to do.
An ethnically diverse city with spectacular skyscrapers and bridges, outdoor swimming pools, a large student population and a non-stop nightlife, the Big Apple, as it is often called, is one of the most popular student cities in North America.
CMSV alumni include Corazón Aguino, the first president of the Philippines after its authoritarian rule came to an end in 1986.
