A look at the most-read Times Higher Education university rankings articles from the past 12 months

The continued rise of China in research, Australasian universities’ success in contributing towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and data revealing the countries with the highest average number of international students were among the rankings stories catching our readers’ attention this year.

The news of a new Japanese university at the top of our teaching-focused ranking for the nation and a Chilean university holding on to the number one spot in our Latin America ranking also features in our list of the most popular articles in 2020.

Below are the top 10 most-read rankings articles of the year, based on website traffic. In all cases, the tables were devised, compiled and published by THE.

The Pontifical Catholic University of Chile topped our 2020 THE Latin America University Rankings, while a Jamaican institution featured in the top 20 for the first time.
