We are seeking a strong, self-starter to join our busy Events Marketing department. The right candidate will demonstrate an unbridled passion for marketing and creativity as well as the ability to write strong and engaging copy. Someone who is able to work under pressure, is focused on delivering great results, makes things happen with ease and is able to multi task with their eyes closed. You will lead on the commercial events marketing strategy as well as support the team in delivering the marketing strategy and tactical execution of campaigns for the broad portfolio of B2B events. As the Global Workshop Director, you will be responsible for strategic planning, execution, and evaluation of events on an international scale. This role requires exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of event management and the ability to navigate diverse cultural contexts.

Working closely with other members of the consultancy team, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the consultancy team’s work. This would include, but not be limited to, conducting quantitative data analysis and drawing insights from data to tell a story; creating visual outputs (both reports and PowerPoints slides); helping to design, conduct and analyse quantitative and qualitative research that we conduct with students, academics, corporates or government bodies. THE events series facilitate discussions for university stakeholders on the latest issues and challenges facing the HE sector, as well as offering practical support for the teams responsible for university management marketing/communications, estates, student recruitment and those shaping teaching and learning strategies. Public intellectuals, media figures, university leaders, government representatives, policy-makers and commentators, and experienced administrators are all typical speakers at events held across THE events globally.

While primarily working with colleagues in the UK, this also involves some working across time-zones, different cultures and companies.

The focus of THE’s commercial team is to understand our institutional partners and their strategic goals, whether they refer to performance in global rankings, development of their research portfolio & partnerships, growth in international recognition, student & academic mobility or anything in between. The team then look at how THE's data, communities and experience can support our partners in achieving these goals. With team members based in the UK, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, the US and Canada, you will be joining a truly global team who work with hundreds of institutions with distinct and varied challenges.

This role is responsible for leading THE validation processes for the data we collect. The main source of our data is universities themselves, and this collection involves active engagement with data providers from the universities. The applicant will need to be familiar with statistical methods for ensuring data quality and compliance to requirements and definitions, and able to design and implement processes for both manual and automated data validation. This role will also need to track issue resolution, however it won’t be responsible for getting issues resolved. This is a hands-on role, requiring in-depth engagement with our data as well as a strong ability to abstract processes.
