About Baku Eurasian University

Baku Eurasian University began in 1992 by Nazim Huseynli as the Supreme Diplomatic College.

Renamed as Baku Diplomatic University in 2005, it took on its current name the following year.

It offers classes in Azerbaijani, English and Russian.

It is divided into two faculties: regional studies and economics incorporates humanities and regional studies, which divides between North American, European and Near/Middle East specialisms, economics and management, and maths and information technology.

The faculty of philology includes foreign language and literature, which is largely focussed on English. The general philology section specialises in Azerbaijani and Turkish language and literature while translation offers English, German, French and Arabic.

Among recent developments, the Civic Education Centre was opened in 2023 in co-operation with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and in the same year a business and management course was launched.

It operates a dual master's course in tourism economics with the University of Genoa. Other international partners include Suleyman Demirel University, Ukraine Academy of Diplomacy and Corvinus University, Budapest.
