About Africa Renewal University
Africa Renewal University began in 2007 with 35 students as Gaba Bible Institute on Uganda’s northern shore of Lake Victoria.
It moved in 2011 to its current 23-acre site in Bulaba, about 20 miles from the capital Kampala, taking the name of Africa Renewal Christian Centre.
Licensed as a tertiary institution by the National Council on Higher Education in 2010, it had to wait for a full university charter, but was awarded it in 2023.
Degrees are offered in journalism, community development, social work and administration, disabled studies and special education, theology, child development, business administration, public health, information technology, software engineering, computer science, business computing and primary education.
