With the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions, has attendance for in-person lectures and seminars returned to pre-pandemic levels, or are half-empty classrooms the new normal? Are students really as forcefully wedded to receiving only face-to-face tuition as some government ministers imagine, or have they embraced the convenience of blended learning?
These are among the questions that Times Higher Education is seeking to explore with a survey of university teaching staff focused on student attendance and engagement during the current academic year and how it compares to pre-pandemic days.
In light of reports of lower attendance and mounting disengagement, we are also keen to explore the potential reasons behind this – and what the solutions might be.
Wherever you are in the world, please share your views – the survey should take less than five minutes to complete, and you do not have to identify yourself. The survey will close on 6 June, and the results will be published by THE during June.
