About Gregory University Uturu
Gregory University Uturu is a private Catholic university based in Uturu, Abia State, Nigeria.
The university was established in 2012 and named after Pope Gregory I. The founder, Professor Gregory Ibe, is chancellor of the university.
The campus is rural, a 100 hectare site six miles outside the town of Okigwe. Facilities include a 2000-seat central auditorium. The medical campus is based around the Teaching Hospital at Ezinnachi Okigwe, in Iwo state.
Students are given the opportunity to learn French as an additional language.
The university has colleges of medical and health science, law, engineering, agriculture, environmental science, education, humanities, natural and applied science and the Joseph Bokai school of social and managerial science.
Research centres include the West African Green Energy Development Institute and the Igbo Renaissance Centre.
