Syaru Shirley Lin: we need to do better

 In this interview, Compton visiting professor of world politics at the University of Virginia, Syaru Shirley Lin describes the various challenges she has witnessed in student education both in the US and in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China.

She particularly emphasises her observation that students in all these countries not only approach global issues in different ways and with different assumptions but also equally feel stifled in their ability to speak freely and ask difficult questions.
