About Arts et Métiers

Arts et Metiers was founded in 1780 and trains multi-disciplinary engineers in the field of sustainable technology with the aim to equip students across industrial and social challenges. The university has eight campuses and three institutes across France including Paris, Bordeaux, Lille, Champagne, Cluny, and Chambery and over 170 partnerships with foreign higher education institutes.

Arts et Metiers offers programmes from bachelors to doctorate level, including the bachelor’s degree in technology that was launched in 2014. There is also the Grande Ecole engineering programme, with five different pathways: student, apprentice, military, infrastructure, and innovation and entrepreneurship. The Grande Ecole is a three-year programme, with the first two years focusing on experimentation and control technologies.

The apprenticeship engineering programme allows students to gain training and industry experience at a top company. There are also approximately 27 master’s qualifications and three-year doctoral training programmes for those looking to develop their professional skills and research.

Those students who attend full-time can spend one year at a different campus, discovering different cultures in France. They can also choose to visit colleagues in other campuses throughout their studies.

Students at Arts et Metiers will become part of the biggest Engineering Alumni Association in Europe on graduating.
