About MMU Liberal Arts
MMU Liberal Arts in a public university located in Miyazaki, Japan.
All students are required to study language, culture, media communication and international political and economic fields, while also finding an area to specialise in. Students are required to select one major after admission according to their area of interest.
There are a number of extracurricular activities available at the university broken down into two separate areas. There is physical education which includes softball, football, table tennis, running, volleyball tennis, dance and basketball among others. The culutural system of clubs includes, band club, tea ceremony club, a cappella club, literary arts club, film club and kimono club.
Students are offered a regular health check every year, which is necessary for the health check certificate which is needed for job hunting and nursing care. The health centre also provides first aid, health consultations and health education. The university also has a student counseling room, were students are able to go to discuss any issues they have that are affecting their mental health.
The university offers international exchanges with Suzhou University, China, Ulsan University, South Korea, Waikato University, New Zealand, Vancouver Island University, Canada, University of Stirling, UK and University of Hawaii at Manoa, USA.
There are three educational goals which influence teaching and learning within the university. These are creative problem solving ability, communication ability, and cross-cultural understanding ability.
There are a couple of different scholarships available for students dependent on the need for financial aid. Some public organisations and public corporations also provide scholarship programmes for local residents.
