In light of the difficulties of those with PhDs finding work, (Letters, THES , August 17, September 21), perhaps we should reflect on the title of the body overseeing such matters.
Is it not ironic that under the Department for Education and Employment (now Department for Education and Skills) it is ever more difficult for people with education at the highest level to obtain full-time permanent work in relevant jobs?
