Parita Muktainterview accuses the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh of being a "paramilitary organisation" (Soapbox, THES, May 19). The HSS is a national organisation and has been a registered charity in Britain for over 30 years. It is an established and respected Hindu organisation dedicated to promoting self-confidence and Hindu cultural values and philosophy, which incidentally includes tolerance and peaceful co-existence as its cornerstone. In no way is it "militant" or "paramilitary".
