I find Oswald's suggestion that the value of USS pensions be increased an attractive one. As actuaries are by nature conservative, it would be useful to have an actuary's view on the USS's financial position, whether its funds would support an increase in pensions (not necessarily to two-thirds of final salary) and tax liabilities.
