The article on vicarious learning ("How to fight solitary confinement", THES, November 12) failed to mention the collaborative nature of the research on which it was based.
This work has been conducted jointly with Glasgow Caledonian University's Centre for Learning and Teaching Innovation. Its director, Terry Mayes, is an eminent figure with a seminal influence in this area. His important contribution to the research - and that of his staff - deserves to be acknowledged.
