As chairman of an organisation that accredits higher education awards on behalf of the accountancy profession, I am concerned that professional recognition should not be seen as undermining academic integrity.
Our board works on behalf of a number of senior United Kingdom accountancy bodies. Our published aim is to protect and promote standards within the profession and the universities. We look closely at programme content, the teaching/learning environment and information such as progression rates, but schemes must already have satisfied all validation processes.
