Redundancy is not looming at Goldsmiths (THES, October 28). Staff are being invited to consider the possibility of voluntary severance, including early retirement, in a strategy that has been discussed with and agreed by local union officials (AUT, Unison). This strategy is designed to avoid further redundancy and reflects the positive approach the college is taking to build on the position so painfully achieved last session.
