The long-awaited appointment of a chief executive to head the new Teacher Training Agency was announced by the Department for Education this week. The post has been filled by Anthea Millet, director of inspection in the office for standards in education since its formation in 1992. Ms Millet, a former teacher and HMI chief inspector, will take up her appointment in the New Year.
