Is it not rather disturbing to find Jonathan Brill, who advocates a universal "employability test" in which he admits he has an interest, using inaccurate information as evidence of the sort of problems faced by employers: "The recruiting partner in an eight-partner firm of barristers" (my emphasis)! (THES, January 17).

Barristers are, of course, self-employed and do not form partnerships nor any other sort of "firm". One hopes that the administrators of the test Mr Brill urges everyone to use will pay more attention to detail. Otherwise they may be finding out rather more about the legal profession than Mr Brill apparently knows at the moment!
