关于 University of Passau
The University of Passau, which first opened its doors in 1978, is a public university located in the German region of Lower Bavaria.
Some 11,000 students hailing from more than 100 countries and about 1,300 university staff go about their studies, research, teaching and support functions on the award-winning urban campus, which is located just a few minutes’ walk from the historic old town of Passau.
The University of Passau consists of five faculties: Law; Business, Economics and Information Systems; Social and Educational Sciences; Humanities and Cultural Studies; and Computer Science and Mathematics. All faculties award undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees through a total of 40 degree programmes. Of these, five master’s programmes can be studied entirely in English: MSc Artificial Intelligence Engineering, MSc Computational Mathematics, MSc Computer Science, MA Development Studies and MSc International Economics and Business.
The University of Passau takes a strongly interdisciplinary approach to its research and teaching, which focus on the three themes of “Europe and Global Transformation”, “Migration, Sustainable Development and Just Order” and “Digitalisation, Networked Society and (Internet) Cultures”.
Passau has always been a highly international university: it was one of the first German universities to offer subject-specific language programmes, which are open to students of all disciplines and are studied alongside their respective degree programme. The university’s language centre offers programmes and courses in 13 Asian, European and Slavic languages from beginner’s to advanced level. This language tuition is particularly useful to those students who wish to spend a semester or two studying at one of its 258 partner universities throughout the world.
