关于 Nova School of Business and Economics
Established in 1978, the Nova School of Business and Economics is part of the Universidade Nova do Lisboa and Alfredo de Sousa Foundation in Lisbon, Portugal and serves as its faculty of economic, finance and management sciences.
Nova SBE is a member of CEMS, the Global Alliance in Management Education and is accredited by EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB, making it one of just 77 business schools to be triple accredited and the first Portuguese business schools to received international accreditations.
The school has 2,797 students, of which 1,456 are undergraduates and 1,257 are graduates (as of 2016) and 84 doctoral students.
At the time of writing, the school is relocating from the former Jesuit College of Campolide, a nineteenth century building, to a new campus.
Courses on offer are, for undergraduates, bachelors in economics and management, for graduates, master's degrees in economics, finance management, CEMS master in international management, international master in finance Brazil-Europe and PhDs in economics/finance management.
Nova offers The Lisbon MBA which is a partnership with Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics and MIT Sloan and has been rated highly within Europe and the rest of the world.
With its motto of "Shaping Powerful Minds", Nova SBE is the home to a range of intriguing "Knowledge Centers": the Nova SBE Finance Knowledge Center; Nova SBE Leadership for Impact Knowledge Center looking at social innovation; Nova SBE Economics for Policy Knowledge Center, using economic tools to tackle issues across public and private organisations; Nova SBE Health Economics & Management Knowledge Center: Nova SBE Environmental Economics Knowledge Center; NOVAFRICA, a knowledge center that generates distinctive expertise on business and economic development in Africa; Venture Lab, an entrepreneurship center international entrepreneurs and Digital Business & Technology.
Student life at Nova SBE is enhanced by both its location in the buzzy city of Lisbon and by a network of student clubs and activities. Clubs include numerous finance, investment and marketing-related groups but also dance, gaming, running and surfing.
Nova SBE and its courses are regularly acclaimed by international rankings. As well as those mentioned above The Financial Times, Times Higher Education and Eduniversal have ranked the institution highly.
Notable faculty include: Jorge Braga de Macedo, Minister of Finance in the XII Constitutional Government; Miguel Frasquilho, President of AICEP, Secretary of State of the Treasury and Finances in the XV Constitutional Government; Maria do Carmo Seabra, Minister of Education in the XVI Constitutional Government; Luís Campos e Cunha, Minister of Finance in the XVII Constitutional Government and José Manuel Neves Adelino, non-executive director at SONAE SGPS.
