关于 Dokkyo Medical University
Dokkyo Medical University is situated in Mibu, the first town in Japan to have female nurses. The institution has roots in the 19th century, but the Medical University was founded in 1973. The on-site medical cenrer opened some years later in 2006.
The university has two main schools, the School of Medicine and the School of Nursing, which offer both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in departments that include pathology, neurology and mental health nursing. The campus has a vast range of resources for students such as the university hospital, where they learn practical skills to take with them after their studies are complete. The hospital is fully-functioning, allowing students to interact and learn from patients, and work on research projects.
Other facilities include the library, training field and auditorium. The campus itself is a green environment lined with Sakura and Ginko trees, allowing for an escape from the bustling cities nearby.
The university works with the University Consortium Tochigi, Mibu Dokkyo Health University and the Tochigi Children’s University for Future Imagination to contribute to vital research in the local area. The university also is committed to being an "open university", offering lectures to the public to benefit society.
Mibu itself is around 1.5 hours away from Tokyo, with historical offerings such as the Mibu Castle, which was once home to the Torii Clan. Also popular are the Mibumachi Toy Museum, Bandai Museum and Tochigi Wanpaku Park.
