Changsha University of Science and Technology can trace its origins back to 1956, but the university took its current form and name in 2003 through the merger of Changsha’s Institutes of Transportation and Electrical Power. The aim of the merger was to form a university focussed on engineering, along with teaching in science, management, economics, law, philosophy and the arts.
