Named after "the father of economics" or "the father of capitalism" depending on what source is quoted, The Adam Smith Business School is part of the University of Glasgow.
With its motto, Via, Veritas, Vita (The Way, The Truth, The Life), it is one of only a small number of business schools holding triple accreditation.
Four undergraduate courses are offered in: accountancy and finance; business and management; business economics and economics.
Meanwhile, the school offers a vast range of master's courses across finance, economics, management and development, including: asset pricing and investment; banking and financial services; biotechnology and management; development studies; environment and sustainable development; financial forecasting and investment; financial modelling; geomatics and management; investment banking and finance and qualitative finance. Their MBA and a number of management MSc courses cover the disciplines of sustainable tourism enterprise and business growth, human resources and international finance.
There are also a number of International courses on offer including accounting and financial management; banking and finance; business and entrepreneurship; corporate finance and banking; finance MFin; financial analysis; human resource management and development; management and design innovation and strategic marketing.
The school’s PhD programmes span accounting, finance, economics and management.
The Adam Smith School has a number of "Research Clusters" in operation including: accounting; entrepreneurship, development and political economy; finance; human resource management and organisational behaviour; international business and enterprise; macroeconomics; marketing and microeconomics.
Recent developments at the school include the Glasgow "Startup Grind" community, where members become part of the global entrepreneur and innovation network consisting of 450 chapters across 120 cities.
