University of Sioux Falls

Founded in 1883, the University of Sioux Falls is a liberal arts facility in South Dakota, affiliated with the American Baptist Church. The city of Sioux Falls itself is the most populous in the state, and contains attractions such as the Delbridge Museum of Natural History and the Great Bear Recreation Centre.

As well as a broad liberal arts programme, studies are available in pre-professional programmes and at the schools of Business and Education. After completion of a degree course 98% of students find employment in their fields within six months. In graduate studies, Sioux Falls offers degree completion programmes, a master’s in Business Administration and Education, and an accelerated Nursing Programme.

The Forum for Conversations in Theology and Science is dedicated to exploring the interchange and any tensions between these two seemingly disparate subjects. Previous years have explored subjects such as Child Development and Spirituality, and Christian Ethics and Environmental Stewardship.

Broadcast media at Sioux Falls are KCFS Student Radio, and KCSD Public Radio. USF College Monthly is a student collaboration that releases updates on progress at the university and wider editorial comment.

Athletics teams at Sioux Falls are known as the Cougars, and compete in the NCAA Division II. There are six men’s sports programmes and ten women’s, including tennis, volleyball, and cheerleading. Completed in 2009, the Sports Complex contains the Young Football Field, a soccer pitch and a ten lane running track.

The colours of Sioux Falls are purple and white, and its motto is ‘Culture For Service’.
