关于 Faulkner University
Faulkner University was established in Montgomery, Alabama in 1942 as the Montgomery Bible School, a preacher training college. The school grew rapidly, acquiring a new campus in 1964 and opening three satellite campuses in 1975. In 1985 it was renamed after Dr James Faulkner, a state senator and supporter of the university who saved it from closure on a number of occasions in its early years.
Faulkner is affiliated with the Churches of Christ congregations. Its mission is “to be a distinctively Christian university, where God’s Word is taught and respected, and where students are encouraged to grow in intellect, character and service”.
The university has five faculties: the Alabama Christian College of Arts and Sciences, the Harris College of Business and Executive Education, the VP Black College of Biblical Studies, the College of Education and the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law. The law school is one of just three in the state and its graduates consistently score highly on the bar entrance exam.
Faulkner University offers several remote learning degrees which can be taken online.
There are 20 intramural and 10 intercollegiate sports teams at Faulkner. Student athletes are known as Eagles, and compete in both men’s and women’s basketball, golf and soccer.
Montgomery, the location of the main campus, is a mid-sized city. This gives it the advantage of retaining a college town feel while also providing internship and employment opportunities. Birmingham and Atlanta are easily accessed via the local highway. The university’s other campuses are based in Mobile, Birmingham and Huntsville.
