The Association of University Teachers' campaign of "industrial action" is inappropriate. It also appears to be ineffectual. Does anyone believe the strike day to have been a great success? At Birmingham the "major impact" was that as many as two examinations were delayed by up to five minutes. We are now getting regular missives concerning "action short of a strike" and the latest advice is not to read emails on Fridays.
I did attempt with some success to get some of the sillier proposals for "action short of a strike" scrapped, but several seem to have slipped through.
