About Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics
Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics was established in 1974. The university is centred around finance and economics with focuses on science, engineering, liberal arts, law, arts and philosophy. There are four campuses, with the main campus located in the city of Hangzhou, China. The university’s first campus buildings were rented from silkworm producing farms in Qibao Town.
Upon its founding, the university was known as the Zhejiang College of Public Finance and Banking, however in 1987 the university was renamed with approval of the former State Education Commission and in 2013 its current name was officially adopted in line with the Ministry of Education’s approval. The university began offering bachelor’s degrees in 1991, master’s in 2003 and doctorate degrees in 2018.
Across the university’s 16 schools and three research institutions, there are 45 undergraduate bachelor programmes, 54 postgraduate master’s programmes, and six doctorate programmes. The schools and departments include: public finance and taxation; public management; accounting; finance; information management and artificial intelligence; economics; law; foreign languages; data sciences; humanities; arts; and physical education.
Students at the university have a range of international opportunities through exchanges and partnerships. The university has links with over 135 universities across 33 countries, allowing for knowledge exchange and study abroad initiatives.
