About University of Samarra
Founded in 2012, University of Samarra is based in the city of Samarra in Iraq, 125 kilometres north of Baghdad.
At the University of Samarra, students can gain undergraduate and postgraduate degrees within a wide variety of faculties, including: education, archeology and Islamic sciences, applied sciences, engineering, physical education and sports sciences and arts.
The University of Samarra has adopted modern teaching methods to ensure that students get opportunities to expand their skill set and graduate ready for the professional job market, whether in Iraq or worldwide.
On campus, students can access mental health and social care, cafeterias, sports arenas, libraries, research laboratories, computer laboratories, classrooms and more. There’s also student accommodation both within the university campus as well as outside.
The Student Activity Department organises all the cultural, social and artistic activities for students, as well as extracurricular and summer activities.
In an attempt to be more sustainable, the University of Samarra has adopted certain measures. For example, the College of Applied Sciences installed flashlights (lamps) that work purely on solar energy.
