About Universitas Negeri Semarang
Universitas Negeri Semarang was established in 1965 in the old Indonesian town of Semarang, the capital of Central Java. There is also a second, smaller campus in Tegal.
Formerly known as the Teachers’ Training College, Universitas Negeri Semarang began educating teachers in the region.
Now the university offers undergraduate bachelor’s, graduate master’s, and postgraduate doctorate degrees as well as vocational education programmes to its prospective students. In total there are 85 study programmes across eight faculties. These faculties include: education, languages and arts, social sciences, mathematics and natural sciences, engineering, sports sciences, economics, and law.
Semarang is known for its huge port and developing city centre.
