About Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta
Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY) was established in 1981 in the Indonesian region of Yogyakarta.
The university offers 23 undergraduate bachelor programs, seven master's options, three doctoral programmes, five professional education programmes, as well as three vocational choices. There’s lots for students to choose from, with courses including: communication science, Islamic education psychology, medicine, nursing, Japanese, English language, civil engineering, agribusiness and many more.
On campus, students have access to a range of sporting facilities, including a futsal field, tennis court, basketball court, badminton court, fitness center and volleyball field. There’s a café, library corner and many other places for students to relax during their down-time.
The city of Yogyakarta has been nicknamed the city of students, with lots of cheap places to eat out, various affordable housing options, and cheap transport options including buses, bicycles, tourist carriages and taxis. There’s also lots of motorbike and car rentals at low prices for students to explore the city on.
