About Ravensbourne
Ravensbourne specialises in digital media and design. It was established in 1959 when the Bromley School of Art merged with the Beckenham School of Art.
The university was originally situated in Chislehurst, in the London Borough of Bromley, but in 2010 it relocated to a purpose built campus in inner London on the Greenwich Peninsula. The campus sits beside the world famous O2 and is just a 15 minute tube ride from Central London. It is located in London’s newest creative community, providing students with the opportunity for collaboration.
The courses offered at Ravensbourne are designed to meet a range of creative interests. These include animation and illustration, architecture and interiors, digital technology, fashion, and marketing and advertising. Students can study at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and there are also short courses available specialising in digital media, fashion, broadcasting, and design.
Throughout the year the university collaborates with creative industries to provide students with the opportunities and skills required to kick-start their careers. A high percentage of the university’s graduates go on to further study or work, and many become leading talents in the creative industry.
The university regularly appears in the media as a result of its innovative projects, the commitment of its staff, and the quality of its students’ work. In July 2020 Ravensbourne was featured in Forbes for its initiative during the COVID-19 pandemic as it created an interactive online game to showcase its graduates’ collection. It has also appeared in The Telegraph, The Big Issue, and Jisc.
