About National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS)
Established in 2015, the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) is a federal public sector university in Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan.
NUMS was founded to promote and achieve excellence in advanced health education, research and service delivery.
NUMS has a large network of military hospitals, speciality institutes, medical colleges and nursing colleges, making it the largest healthcare provider in Pakistan.
As a research-led university, it offers courses for undergraduates and postgraduates in medical education and training including medicine, dentistry, nursing, allied health and veterinary sciences.
The university offers several scholarships for their students. For students already enrolled in any of the NUMS and Constituent Colleges there is the HEC-NUMS Need Based Scholarships Programme which provides money for tuition fees and a monthly stipend. New students have the option to apply for the EHSAAS Undergraduate Scholarship Program which covers tuition fees and provides an annual stipend for other costs.
The university campus includes five hostels for male students and two for female students. On site there are lecture halls, laboratories, seminar rooms and a spacious auditorium. There is also a library on campus which is stocked with professional medical books and all students can attend clinical training at military hospitals and institutes in the local area.
