About Maejo University
Located in Chiang Mai, Maejo University was established in 1934 as the Northern Agricultural Teachers Training School. Since then it has been restructured and renamed several times until 1996 when it became known as Maejo University (MJU).

In addition to these, the university has two smaller campuses in Phrae and Chumphon, which were built due to increased need for space.
With a focus on practical agriculture in order to prepare students for various agricultural pursuits, MJU offers a variety of courses and programmes such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees.
The campuses have a library, classrooms, several cafeterias, a bookstore and extensive sports facilities. Its Kanchanapisek Sports Complex houses one the largest gymnasiums in the country, indoor and outdoor courts, and an Olympic sized swimming pool.
MJU also has 10 dormitories for new students, as well as private lodgings located around the university.
After fostering links with universities worldwide, study abroad and exchange programmes are on offer for students.
MJU is currently striving to receive the status of an eco-university by introducing eco-zones on campus, increased promotions of the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) and the adoption and promotion of renewable energy.
