About Goa University

Goa University serves the former Portuguese enclave on India's west coast, which became part of India in 1962.

Established in 1962, it began as an independent university in 1984. The central campus, located on the Taleigao Plateau near Panaji, primarily serves postgraduate students, while undergraduate courses are offered through a network of over 50 affiliated colleges across Goa.

Goa University has plans for expansion, including a research park and incubators for various disciplines. It also introduced new programmes and flexible course durations to align with the 2020 National Education Plan.
