About Central South University
Central South University was founded in the year 2000, and exists today as a National University in the city of Changsha, China.
CSU was actually formed from a merger of three previously separate institutions in the area, namely Central South University of Technology, Changsha Railway University, and Hunan Medical University.
Academically, these universities taught a wide range of subjects and specialised in a number of different areas. As a result, CSU has courses arranged into 11 different branches, and include such subjects as engineering, medicine, law, economics, literature and history.
This results in over 80 different majors being offered for prospective students, along with a huge number of different postgraduate courses. As well as this, scholarship options are available and the university has a number of partnerships and exchange programs with other universities around the world. In addition, Central South University has three hospitals associated with it, as well as a number of different study centres. The university also provides its own accommodation options for students.
Aside from academia and accommodation, students also have the opportunity to enjoy the city of Changsha, a large bustling regional capital with a huge amount to offer the numerous students who call it home. In addition, CSU operates a large campus containing a range of different recreational facilities such as a swimming pool and sports stadium.
Central South University has produced a number of famous alumni, including Liang Wengen, one of the richest men in China.
