About Çankırı Karatekin University
Çankırı Karatekin University is one of the seventeen universities established in 2007 by the President of Turkey.
The university envisions becoming an innovative institution recognised globally for its education and research, preferred by students, researchers, and employees alike.
Located in Çankırı, north-central Turkey, historically known as Gangra, the city lies northeast of Ankara, the capital of Turkey. Çankırı sits at an elevation of approximately 2500 ft, at the confluence of the Tatlı and Acı rivers.
The university comprises ten faculties: dentistry, letters, science, law, economics and administration, Islamic sciences, engineering, forestry, health sciences, and art, design, and architecture. Each faculty houses various departments offering a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.
There are also five institutes: fine arts, health sciences, social sciences, turkology, and the graduate school of natural and applied sciences.
The university conducts research projects throughout the year across various topics, utilising its numerous application and research centres, including the African Countries Cooperation Application and Research Centre, Oral and Dental Health Applications and Research Centre, and Women and Family Studies Applications and Research Centre.
