Batangas State University is a public state university located in the province of Batangas, Philippines. The university was established in 1903 as a training school, and was subsequently granted state college status in 1968. The institute received accreditation as a state university in 2001.
The university offers courses across a multitude of disciplines including engineering, arts, sciences, nursing, industrial technology, law, basic education, teacher education, medicine, agriculture, and forestry.
Batangas State University is the oldest higher education institution in the region and consists of two main campuses, two satellite campuses and seven extension campuses in Batangas.
The university if home to two student-run media outlets.
The university places a strong emphasis on sustainable development and has a range of sustainability initiatives on campus such as using renewable energy, and reducing water pollution.
