About Hartpury University
Hartpury University was established after World War II as an agricultural education centre with just 50 students. Since its establishment, Hartpury has developed into a college and university with over 3,500 students. The 360-hectare campus is among the UK’s leading specialist education providers in animal, agriculture, equine, sport, and veterinary nursing.
The first higher education degree was introduced in 1992, equine studies, followed by the first degree programme in equine science in 1994. In 1999 Hartpury opened its first master’s programme. Set within the British countryside, Hartpury’s built environment begun with Hartpury House and Home Farm, and remains located in Gloucester. The current campus has a range of facilities including canine therapy centres, hypoxic chambers, a commercial farm and sports facilities.
The degree programmes at Hartpury are offered on a range of entry levels, including three or four year bachelors degrees, one year foundation years, three year foundation degrees, and postgraduate qualifications ranging from one to eight years in duration.
From Olympic gold medallists to professional footballers, Hartpury is recognised for its sporting reputation across the UK and has many sporting facilities with professional coaching and support services.
The Student’s Union arranges a variety of events, conferences, clubs and activities for students to get involved with during their free time. Whilst sports clubs are perhaps most popular on campus, there’s a whole host of other activities to try.
