About Ghazi University
Ghazi University was founded in 2012 and became a functioning university two years later in 2014.
However, the university has a history that dates back to 1998 when the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, established the College of Agriculture as a sub-campus in Dera Ghazi Khan. Six years later, Bahauddin Zakariya University also opened a sub-campus there. In 2014 these two sub-campuses merged with Ghazi Medical College and the Postgraduate Degree College to become Ghazi University.
The university is located in Dera Ghazi Khan, a city in the Punjab province of central Pakistan.
There are currently four faculties within the university: faculty of agricultural sciences, faculty of arts, faculty of management and social sciences, and the faculty of science. These faculties are divided into 21 departments, offering both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.
The Directorate of Students’ Affairs is responsible for bridging the gap between the university administration and the student community. The directorate aims to support and encourage students during their time at the university through a number of activities, clubs and initiatives.
Throughout the year the university carries out research projects in almost all fields of interest. This research is published in several journals including the Pakistan Journal of Environmental and Life Sciences and the GU Journal of Phytosciences.
