About International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan
The International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan is located in Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s capital and largest city.
The academy is organised into three academic faculties: faculty of Islamic studies, faculty of classical oriental philology, and the faculty of Islamic economics and international relations. Within these faculties are a number of departments offering a range of bachelors, masters and PhD degree programmes.
As part of its religious education, the academy offers courses in Islamic economy and finance, studies of the Quran, history of Islam, Hadith, Islam rights, and Aqida. There are also secular courses available in international relations, classic literature, languages, and pilgrimage tourism.
The academy’s International Cooperation Department is responsible for developing partnerships with other higher education institutions around the world and organising international conferences, events, seminars and webinars. The department also works with international students to ensure they are enjoying their experience at the academy.
The academy is home to the Centre of Scientific Research and Innovative Projects, which was established in 1999. The centre specialises in Islamic culture, religion, history and national heritage. There are three departments within the centre: the Department for the Study of Contemporary Religious Problems, the Department for Scientific Research on Islamic Studies, and the Department for Expertise, Review and Project Management.
