About Free International University of Moldova (ULIM)
The Free International University of Moldova (ULIM) is located in Chisinau, the capital and largest city in Moldova. It has 23 lakes, innumerable parks and varied wildlife, meaning it has one of the highest proportions of natural spaces of any urban city in Europe. The student campus is located in the heart of the city and is in itself an attraction.
Founded in 1992, it’s a young university. There are seven faculties including: law, economic sciences, social and educational sciences, and design among others.
Within, there are 42 undergraduate programmes of study, 60 graduate programmes of study, and 11 doctoral programmes in various fields, including: accounting, journalism and computer science. It’s a small university with around 6,000 students annually.
More than 30 per cent of the student body in international and the university has ensured that a large proportion of their programmes are offered in four languages: Romanian, Russian, English, and French.
With ultramodern libraries, computer rooms and high-quality equipment, media, and a sports centre, the campus has many facilities and amenities for students. There’s also modern student accommodation on site.
Over the years, students have seen success at various different sports events both in Moldova and globally, at the Olympic Games and world university games.
The university also offers international exchange programmes so students can experience studying abroad for one year if desired.
