About St Paul University Philippines

St Paul University Philippines has a history that dates back to the establishment of Colegio de San Pablo in 1907. In 1941 the school served as a military garrison and hospital for the Japanese forces. Seven years later the school became the first teacher training institution in the Cagayan valley area and was renamed St. Paul College of Tuguegarao. In 1982 the college was granted full university status and became St Paul University. It was the first private Catholic university in Asia.

The university is located in Tuguegarao, a city in the Cagayan Province of the Philippines.

There are five schools within the university: school of arts, sciences and teacher education, school of business, accountancy and hospitality management, school of information technology and engineering, school of nursing and allied health sciences, and the school of medicine.

There is also the graduate school, which offers a number of doctoral and master’s degree programmes. The school focuses on research-based education and gives students the opportunity to specialise in their chosen field.

In 2020 the university opened the Centre for Planning, Research, Innovations and New Technology to facilitate its numerous research projects. The centre was established in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the growing need to find solutions to global challenges brought about by the virus.
