About Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research
Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research was formerly known as Sri Ramachandra University and is a private university located in Porur, Chennai in India. The university was established in 1985 as a not-for-profit institution with an emphasis on medical education, research and healthcare.
There are nine colleges and faculties across the university. These include: dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, physiotherapy, allied health sciences, management, biomedical sciences, technology and research, public health, sports and exercise science, clinical research, and engineering and technology. Across these nine colleges and faculties, there are 150 undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes for students to choose from.
Across the 150-acre campus there are modern laboratories and one of the largest medical libraries in the region. There is also a cricket pitch, football field, temple, railway service, skills lab and a gymnasium.
The university is located in Porur, on the busy Chennai to Bangalore highway, just a 20-minute drive to Chennai International Airport.
Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research has partnerships with universities across Europe, North America, Africa and Australia, including the University of North Carolina, Sydney Nursing School and the University of Glasgow.
