About University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli
Named for the 18th century architect, Luigi Vanvitelli who designed some of the most majestic buildings in Naples and Casterta, the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli was rebranded in 2016 when its rector felt the university "needed a new identity".
The university was first founded in 1991 to relieve the numbers of students on the nearby Federico III University.
There are a number of notable 18th and 19th century buildings on the campus and includes the city’s oldest university hospital, the Primo Polyclinico. Medicine.
The university offers courses in engineering, architecture and industrial design at Aversa, economics in Capua, law, humanities and cultural heritage in Santa Maria Capua-Vetere, and maths and physics, psychology, political science, environment and pharmaceutical and biological sciences in Caserta. The various campuses are linked by a network of shuttle buses and carpooling.
English-language courses are available in medicine, surgery and nursing. The ALS Neurology Centre is among the national leaders in treating motor neurone diseases.
It has joined the Italian national government’s PA 110 e lodi initative to offer degree qualifications to public employees.
The university offers the Marco Polo scholarship programme for graduates of Chinese universities.
