About Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation
Originally established as the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT) in 1993, APIIT gained University College status in 2004 and was renamed the Asia University College of Technology & Innovation (UCTI). It is now called the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) and is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Overseas, APU has campuses in Sri Lanka, established in 2000, and India, established in 2001. APU has also been partnered with Staffordshire University in the UK, and offers students the chance to study a Bachelor Degree in England. Programmes offered include the following: animation and visual effects; design innovation and brand management; international studies; and journalism.
APU is focused on producing the most employable graduates, as set out in their mission statement.
At undergraduate level, APU offers studies in computing and technology, engineering, business and management and accounting, and finance and quantitative studies.
In 2016, the university’s new campus building in Kuala Lumpur was completed and named Technology Park Malaysia (TPM). This state-of-the-art site includes a fitness centre, technology and engineering labs, lounges and lecture rooms among many other facilities. The campus also prides itself on being eco-friendly.
In 2011, the APIIT Education Group, including APU, received the prestigious Prime Minister’s Industry Excellence Award from the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak. The award recognised APU’s organisational excellence.
