Trevecca Nazarene University

Established in 1901, Trevecca Nazarene University is a private Christian liberal arts college in Nashville, Tennessee, US. The institution says on their website that their “students’ academic success is top priority” but in addition to that it sees its mission being the students growth as “people of faith” through courses, professors’ mentorship and by praying alongside friends.

The academic programmes are organised into the schools of Arts and Sciences, the Skinner School of Business and Technology, Education, the Millard Reed School of Theology and Christian Ministry, the School of Music and Worship Arts and the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies. Worship is a significant part of campus life at Trevecca Nazarene University. The community gathers weekly to pray, sing, read the Scripture, listen to preachers and share the Lord’s supper.

Beyond activities surrounding academia and faith, students can also join clubs such as the Ice Hockey Club, Social Justice Club and Art Club, or you can take part in intercollegiate sports including baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, track and field, volleyball, cheerleading and softball.

Some famous alumni of Trevecca include General Superintendent Emeritus in the Church of the Nazarene Nina Gunter, author and professor of religion Tripp York, Louie Weaver - drummer of rock band Petra and Stipe Miocic, mixed martial arts fighter.
